What CalmPath stores in your browser or on your device, and why. Version 2026-09-19.
The short version
CalmPath uses necessary storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and let the app work offline. With your permission only, we also use Google Analytics cookies to count which pages are used, with page details and anything personal removed. No advertising cookies. Third parties such as Stripe and Google may set their own cookies when you are on their pages during payment or sign-in.
1. What we store and why
Session storage: a token that keeps you signed in, issued by our authentication provider (Supabase) and kept in your browser's local storage. Without it you would have to sign in on every page.
App data and preferences: a local copy of your family's data so the app opens instantly and works offline, plus settings such as your chosen crisis-line region and whether you have dismissed the getting-started tips. This is stored on your device and synchronised with our servers when you are online; it is cleared when you sign out.
Service worker cache: files the app needs, stored so it loads quickly and can run with a poor connection.
All of the above are strictly necessary for the Service to function, so they do not require consent under Australian law, the GDPR or the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. We do not use any cookies or storage for advertising or cross-site tracking.
2. Analytics cookies (only with your permission)
On the web, we ask before loading Google Analytics. If you choose Allow, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id> (kept for up to 2 years) to count visits and which pages are used. If you choose No thanks, it is never loaded.
What is sent is limited: page addresses are reduced to the page type (for example "/skill", never which skill), sign-in links and promo codes are removed, and no name, email address, child detail or anything you type is ever sent. Google Signals and advertising features are switched off.
You can change your choice at any time with the switch at the top of this page. Turning it off stops analytics and removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site.
3. Third-party cookies
When you go through checkout or manage billing, you are on pages operated by Stripe, which sets its own cookies for fraud prevention and to complete the payment, under Stripe's privacy and cookie policies.
If you sign in with Google, Google sets cookies on its own pages during sign-in under Google's policies.
We do not embed third-party advertising or social media widgets in CalmPath. Google Analytics is loaded only if you allow it (see above).
4. Your choices
You can clear or block browser storage in your browser settings; if you block it, you will not be able to stay signed in and the app will not work properly. Signing out clears the local copy of your data from that device. Deleting your account removes your data from our servers.
5. Changes
If we add other cookies or storage that require your consent, we will ask for it in the app first and update this policy. The version date is shown at the top of this page.
